Multiple Teams · Giants Hire Ryan Vermilion as New Football Coach


Marion High School alum Ryan Vermilion, Class of ’92’, is the new Head Coach for the Giants. Coach Vermilion is not only a former Giant athlete, but has also had several years of coaching experience in Marion’s football program. From the 1998-2004 he took on several coaching roles such as defensive coordinator, defensive line coach, linebacker coach and strength and condition coach. Vermilion then became a head coach when he accepted a position at Edinburgh High School. He coached there for two years before moving on to Winchester High School as the Head Coach. While at Winchester, Coach Vermilion started a youth program as a feeder system for the varsity program.

The summer of 2012 Coach Vermilion decided to come back to Marion High School. He accepted an assistant coaching position and worked with quarterbacks, running backs and defensive backs.

He is also a special education teacher at MHS.

Coach Vermilion received a BS in Secondary Education  from Butler University in 1996. He also received a Master of Education from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2010.
