For the month of March, no high school athletic website in the state of Indiana had more visitors than MarionGiantsSports.com, according to Varsity News Network.
Marion’s athletic website has finished in the top-5 a number of times but never has it been the most popular site in a month. It’s highest finish prior was 2nd in the month of July 2015 after the Giant Challenge.
Much of the traffic to the website in March was caused by the boys basketball march to the program’s 8th State Championship. No basketball program in IHSAA history has won more than the Marion Giants.
“We have a great group of student-athletes and coaches that make it easy to write stories and promote the fun things happening”, said athletic director Jamy Bechler. “We have been able to stay up-to-date with what is happening with Marion athletics. We’ve been able to give timely information and human interest stories. Our community loves sports. It is fun to be part of an athletic department that has the success and tradition that we do. It makes having a good website possible.”
Visitors to the Marion website can find pictures of sporting events, up-to-date schedules and results as well as special interest stories highlighting a great number of Giant achievements.
The next five schools for March, in terms of visitors, was Fishers, Cathedral, Guerin Catholic, Portage and North Central.
