The Giants fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 16-5 loss to Richmond on Saturday in game 2. Richmond scored on a single by James Hall, a double by Phillip Hobbs, and a stolen base in the first inning.
Marion Giants captured the lead in the first inning. Jaddyn Fisher grounded out, scoring one run.
Richmond took the lead for good with four runs in the first inning. In the first James Hall singled off of Kyrie Simmons, driving in one run, Phillip Hobbs doubled off of Simmons, driving in two runs, and a runner scored on a wild pitch.
Richmond scored four runs in the fourth inning. The big inning for Richmond came thanks to a triple by Hobbs, a stolen base.
Tyras Brown went 2-for-3, Kurtis Alcala also went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI’s
Richmond collected 12 hits. Mason Brewer, BB Clemens, and Hobbs each collected multiple hits for Richmond.
