Girls Varsity Soccer · Boggs named Head Coach of the Marion Lady Giants Soccer team


Jacob Boggs has been named the Head Coach of the Marion Lady Giants Soccer team.

 Boggs, a 2000 graduate from Anderson High school, played and started in every game in his high school soccer career.  In 1999, he was named team captain, selected to the ALL-NCC team, the academic ALL-NCC team and was also selected as honorable mention on the ALL-District team.

While continuing his education at Ball State University, Boggs lead the 2005  Ball State Club Soccer team to the best club record in the history of the program.

Some of Boggs vast coaching experiences include, Varsity Assistant Coach for the Anderson High School soccer team, Head Coach of the Ball State Men’s Club Soccer team as well as the boys and girls JV Head Coach at Yorktown High School.

He was also the Director/Co-Founder of the Muncie Futbol Club from 2013-2015.

Whether it’s to the students in his classroom at Marion High School or to the players on the  field, Coach Boggs is looking forward to GIANT success by imparting his philosophy…“NEVER GIVE UP,  Giants Fight, Never Die!”                 

Marion High School Athletic Director Steve Moritz said, ”We are extremely excited about the hiring of Jacob Boggs as the new Head coach of the Lady Giants Soccer team.  With his playing and coaching experience plus his plans for developing the Soccer team now and in the years to come,  the Marion Lady Giants Soccer program is in good hands.”

Moritz continued, “We are very thankful to former head Coach Bre Laypoole for her dedication and commitment to the Lady Giants soccer program during the past two seasons as well as a volunteer assistant coach for many years.”  Laypoole, who was also an outstanding student athlete during her years at Marion High School, resigned this past week.

The Marion Lady Giants kick off their season with a scrimmage at Eastbrook High School Saturday, August 11 at 2:oo pm.
