Giants News · Marion Giant Football is now 8-0

The Marion Giants got off to a slow start on Senior Night but the end result was another lopsided victory as Marion defeated Tech 36-6.

Late in the first quarter of a scoreless game, Tech had the ball first and goal at the two yard line but the Giant defense stopped them four straight times to keep the game tied at 0-0. Marion then marched 79 yards downfield and scored on a Keshaun Taylor to D’Angelo Jones 11-yard touchdown play and the Giants led 7-0.

With just over a minute left till halftime, Tech blocks the Marion punt and runs it 25 yards to score to make it 7-6. Tech fails at the two point conversion and the Giants go into the halftime locker room leading by just one.

JK Thomas takes the second half kickoff 56 yards and due to a Tech horse collar tackle, Marion had the ball on the nine yard line. Thomas then goes untouched for a touchdown and Marion led 14-6.

The Giants went to work again as QB Keshaun Taylor hit Isaiah Hamilton with a 41-yard strike and an eighteen yard touchdown pass to put Marion up 21-6. On the Giants next possession Taylor runs it in from 17 and Marion led 28-6.

In the fourth quarter the Giant defense did the scoring as Juan Carlos Ramirez recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown followed by a Safety forced by the defense and Marion rolls to victory 36-6.

The Giants are now 8-0 and 6-0 in the NCC. Marion will close out the regular season next Friday night at Harrison and with a win the Giants are conference champions.
