The Marion Lady Giants traveled to Southwood on Wednesday night and played the first half without Jazmyn Turner and with Rashaya Kyle in foul trouble. The results were that the game was tied at 26 at the half.
Second half, different story. Marion started the third quarter with their regulars on the floor and raced to a 52-32 lead after three. In the fourth the Lady Giants cruised to a 65-34 victory to move their record to 11-4.
Marion was led by Ellie Vermilion with 18, Rashaya Kyle scored 17 including her 1000th career point. Senior Jazmyn Turner had 15, all in the second half. Ayana Harvey scored eight and Markeisha Jackson added seven.
The Lady Giants will host NCC rival Richmond on Friday night at the Bill Green Arena. Tipoff is at 7:30 pm (there is no JV game)
