Boys Basketball Season Ends in Sectional Play

The Marion Giants caught fire at the end of the season but they came up short to Logansport 97-87 Tuesday night at Lafayette Jeff in the first-round of IHSAA sectionals. Marion boys basketball will travel tonight to Lafayette Jeff to play Logansport at 7:30.  The sectional games are still scheduled to be played even though all schools involved have canceled school for the day.   Each school has the approval of the superintendent to travel and play tonight as long as conditions do not worsen.  The

Emily Murphy Named C-T Athlete of the Week

Marion Senior gymnast Emily Murphy was selected as the Chronicle-Tribune’s female athlete of the week for the week ending on February 22.  Murphy took second in the all-around at the Marion Gymnastics Invitational with her 35.200. She tied for second with Lauren Wagner from Northrop. Taylor Ross from Homestead won the all-around with a 36.975.

Marion Wins 7th Game in a Row

(update on Sunday, February 22) Marion won two games over the weekend to improve their win streak to seven games and their overall record to 15-8 and 5-4 in the North Central Conference. Friday night was senior night at Bill Green Arena and the Marion Giants did not disappoint as they defeated Muncie Central 61-55.
